Unveiling an Bizarre Steam Demo: Guiding a Poop with the Goal to Arrive at the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is now live, and enthusiasts have discovered a variety of entertaining indie games. But, one stands out for its offbeat concept. Called Unko Technica, this old-school styled side-scrolling game lets you play a hero that is literally a piece of poop trying to make its way to a commode. For those curious, "Unko" means "poop."

How you interact is easy to grasp: just use a jump control. Throughout 150 levels, you'll face tough enemies and visit a market to buy outfits for your poop character.

Plan your movements precisely, since one wrong move requires starting over. Jump on air pockets to hurl yourself to new heights, traverse disappearing ledges, and touch buttons to unlock new areas. Collect currency for buying challenging levels where gameplay gets crazy.

Graphically, the experience boasts vibrant environments and an amazing music score. Its minimalist graphics with moving abstract forms may remind players of old favorites like Earthbound.

Although tough to think of previous releases where you play as a dung character, video games often incorporated fecal matter. For instance, in Death Stranding, you can make throwables from character excrement. Titles such as Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved utilize feces as fertilizer. Naturally, such content shows up a lot in the role-playing game The Stick of Truth.

Regardless of its humorous premise, Unko Technica has already received significant recognition, including being named best at Bandai Namco's GYAAR Studio in 2023. A playable preview is ready currently on Steam, with the full game set to launch on PC on November 19.
