An official for the publisher said: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams." It has been reported that the conclusion was reached following an review of allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at young women. The company did not confirm the motivations for this action, stating: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues." A Prolific Publishing History Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, having sold over six tens of millions of copies internationally in 55 languages. His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago. Some of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films. To date, he has released more than 40 books combined, encompassing a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October. A Dual Career His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*. He was awarded an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to charity and the arts. The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
